Events at KCCs abroad

This May, the Korean Cultural Center in Poland, in collaboration with Polish cultural and artistic institutions, will present a tour of the original pansori performance About Dwarves and Little Orphan Mary in three Polish cities.

About Dwarves and Little Orphan Mary is based on the beloved literary work by Maria Konopnicka, one of Poland’s most cherished fairy tale authors. Inspired by this classic tale, Korean pansori artist Jang Seo-yoon and Polish experimental sound artist Rafał Mazur have created a collaborative work that blends traditional pansori vocals with electronic soundscapes. The performance also features traditional Korean percussionist Lee Woo-joo and Polish improvisational trumpeter Artur Majewski.

This project is made possible through strong cooperation with local cultural institutions including Teatr Łaźnia Nowa in Kraków, the Warsaw International Book Fair, Studio Teatr, and Centrum Kultury ZAMEK in Poznań. It is part of the “Touring K-Arts” program supported by the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE).

We warmly invite you to experience this unique fusion of Korean and Polish artistry.
