In December 2024, Korea's traditional fermented food culture, “jang” making, was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

At the invitation of the Korean Cultural Center, Venerable Jeong Kwan Seunim, an ambassador of Korean temple cuisine, returned to Hungary in June 2025 to demonstrate traditional methods of preparing fermented foods.
