Events at KCCs abroad

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Korean Association in Sweden(Koreanska Sällskapet) co-hosted a Christmas party together with members of Koreanska Sällskapet and their family at Östermalms Föreningsråds lokaler on Sunday, 25th of November.

Up to 120 members from Koreanska Sällskapet joined in the event enjoying fun programs such as Christmas song performance, Magic show and all time favorite Giveaway time. Christmas song performance was perfect to feel Christmas, especially the magic show was loved the most by children at the event.

Kijoung Cho, Counsellor of the Embassy attended and shared a great time with families of Koreanska Sällskapet. He also had a chance to hear a lot of touching stories of Korean adoptees and their beautiful family.

Gunnar Larsson and Birgit Larsson adopted Annelie in 1978 and Maria in 1984, both from Korea and they are surely proud of their daughters. Annelie, the older daughter is married and living happy life with her two daughters Maya and Alice. Maria, the second daughter is married with Fredrik who is also an adoptee and has two children, Sixten and Algot. Annelie became an economist and Maria is a doctor. It is no wonder Mr. and Mrs. Larsson are very proud of them.

Per Stendahl who used to be a board member and a Master of Ceremony for various event of Koreanska Sällskapet and his wife Sirpa Stendahl also joined in the event with his adopted daughter Katarina Sei Ok and her boyfriend Carl. Sei Ok came to Sweden when she was only 3 months old in 1988, but now she is grown as a designer and has a boyfriend. How admirable she is!

It is known that there are approximately ten thousand Korean adoptees in Sweden. This event certainly served as an occasion to feel grateful to Swedish parents for having raised their adopted children great and children for becoming a such wonderful adult.

The Embassy would like to thank Lars Frisk, president of Koreanska Sällskapet and his wife Kerstin Frisk and Katarina Eriksson, a vice-president and also everyone who prepared the successful event.
