‘K-Pop World Festival 2018 Sweden Preliminary’ concluded successfully

 

“K-Pop World Festival 2018 Sweden Preliminary” organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Sweden was held at Maxim Teatern on June 9. A total of 14 teams which were selected through review of applications(videos) participated as contestants, and an audience of more than 400 attended the event and cheered the participants passionately.

 

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Sweden appreciates all the time, efforts and passion given to K-Pop and to the event by all the participant teams, and the wonderful support shown by the audience.

 

In addition, it was truly amazing to see how considerate those 14 participant teams were towards other teams and how sincerely they cheered each other during the whole process of rehearsals and main performances. We hope that K-Pop will continue contributing to the friendship among young people of Sweden.

 

At the end of the contest, every participant was awarded a certificate of participation from the Embassy. The three best teams chosen by the jury based on the criteria provided by KBS(Korea Broadcasting System) which is the organizer of the main competition to be held in Changwon, Korea in October are as follows:  the first prize winner R-10(“Bboom Bboom” by Momoland), 2the second prize winner Ignite(“Boss” by NCT U), the third prize winner EVL(“Black Dress” by CLC).

 

The first prize winner is to be recommended by the Embassy to KBS as a candidate for a participant to the main competition. The final selection of the participants to the main competition will be determined and announced by KBS in the coming months.
