The Korean Cultural Centre is proud to present the online exhibition of 「Feast of K-Chopsticks」as the 6th visual art series of the Virtual K-Culture program.
「Feast of K-Chopsticks」exhibition opened at the KCC Gallery on February 27, under the partnership between the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Canada, the Korean Cultural Centre and the City of Cheongju.
On the occasion of the designation as the Culture City of East Asia in 2015, the City of Cheongju launched its first Chopsticks Festival in collaboration with its counterparts in China and Japan. The exhibition was introduced at that Festival for the first time in 2016.
Beginning with the historic Korean relic and reproduction chopsticks as well as the introduction on Korean chopstick culture, the exhibition presents the artifacts made by 4 great masters of Korean traditional craft art and 30 pieces of modern chopsticks designed by contemporary artisans and designers around Korea, bolstering the artistic excellence and cultural diversity of Korean craft culture. Finally, the interesting comparison of the characteristics of chopsticks between Korea, China and Japan is also exhibited.
