"The First Great Show" is a comedic musical that depicts the creation of the country's first musical in the 1960s. The story is about the head of the cultural and artistic revolution division of the Korean Central Intelligence Agency and a stage director ordered by the government to produce a grand musical to rival North Korea's works. This is the latest production by Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theatre, which succeeded the country's first musical group Yegreen Music Company. The production opens on May 29 at Sejong M Theater of Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul's Jongno-gu District.
