The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW, Minister Jeong Eun Kyeong) held the K-BIC Venture Cafe on Thursday, August 28, in the Bastille Room (3rd Floor) of the Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel, to support global expansion and provide networking opportunities for healthcare startups.

The August session featured a seminar tailored to startups seeking entry into international markets. Topics included practical guidance on English-language contracts, risk management across contracting stages, and effective communication strategies.

The event also introduced JLABS Korea*, Johnson & Johnson’s global healthcare startup accelerator, offering participants the opportunity to explore potential avenues for collaboration with the organization.

*JLABS Korea is the Seoul site of Johnson & Johnson’s global healthcare startup accelerator, JLABS. Following launches in Singapore and Shanghai, it became the third Asian site in the network. JLABS has built a global network of over 1,000 startups and has supported member companies in securing more than KRW 145 trillion in investment.

In addition to the seminar, a networking session was held to facilitate connections among participating startups, JLABS Korea, investors, and industry experts, providing a forum for potential global collaboration.

Jung Eun-young, Director General of Health Industry Policy at the MOHW, stated, “Through this K-BIC Venture Cafe, held in collaboration with JLABS Korea, we hope it will serve as a launchpad for Korean startups to successfully enter the global market.” ///
