K-DRAMAS INCLUDING “PERFECT CROWN” TO BE SHOWCASED AT CANNES

Participating in the “ 9th Cannes International Series Festival”, targeting the global market through investment roadshows

Korean TV series including Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation’s “Perfect Crown” are set to target the global market by holding investment roadshows in Cannes, France.

The Korea Media and Communications Commission (KMCC; Chairperson Kim Jong-cheol) and the Korea Communications Agency (KCA; President Lee Sang-hun) announced on the 23rd that they are attending the “9th Cannes International Series Festival (Canneseries)” held from the 23rd to the 28th in Cannes, France, to host investment roadshows and screening sessions aimed at supporting the overseas market expansion of Korean broadcast content.

“Canneseries” is the world’s largest TV series festival held annually in Cannes, France. During the event, various side events including screenings of major international TV series, award ceremonies, and networking sessions are held to introduce outstanding new content such as TV series and documentaries from around the globe.

In connection with the festival, KMCC is visiting Cannes to host events promoting Korean broadcast content. Investment roadshows and screenings will be held on the festival site for a total of seven TV series.

During this event, KMCC will operate the “non-competition K-drama screening (Rendez-vous)” and the “K-drama investment roadshow.” The participating works were selected through an open call for the “2026 Canneseries-Linked Broadcast Content Overseas Distribution Support” project in February.

For the K-drama investment roadshow on the 23rd, four works have been selected for presentation to international broadcasters, production companies, and investors to facilitate overseas exports: Filling for Love (CJ ENM), Bloody Flower (EO Contents Group), Kokdu (Movie Makers 36st), and Perfect Crown (Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation).

Three works will be screened on the 24th through the non-competition K-drama screening (Rendez-vous) session: The Sacred Jewel (SLL JOONGANG), All The Things You Are (FILMDIARY), and Genfluencer (MooAm). Directors, writers, and cast members will attend in person for a meet-and-greet with the audience.

Five actors, Ahn Bo-hyun and Claudia Kim (The Sacred Jewel), Cha Ni (All The Things You Are), and Bae Yoon-kyoung and Moon Ji-in (Genfluencer), attended the screening. They are expected to contribute to strengthening promotional efforts through stage greetings and interviews with international media.

“The competitiveness of Korean broadcast content stems from its unique subject matters and emotion, combined with planning capabilities that resonate with global audiences and production efficiency enhanced by AI technology. We will continue expanding our support to ensure that creative broadcast content can naturally connect with overseas markets,” KMCC Chairperson Kim Jong-cheol stated.

Participated in by over 40 countries, this annual event involves more than 300 experts discussing the international distribution and circulation of outstanding content. The festival attracts up to 20,000 visitors, with a total of 30 to 40 works presented to the audience.
