The Songnisan National Park Office (a local division of the Korea National Park Service) announced the closure of three trails (totaling 12.7㎞) in the hiking sections of Mt. Songnisan from November 15th to April 30th. Such measures have been taken to ensure the safety of visitors during the winter season and to prevent forest fires.
The selected trails: ▲Yonghwa Jigu-Bukgachi (5.2㎞), ▲Mitasa-Minpandong (4㎞), and ▲Munjangdae-Bukgachi (2.9㎞) contain loose and uneven sections requiring additional safety upgrades for slippery conditions. They are scheduled to reopen to the public once improvements are completed.
The mountain will continue to welcome winter guests on 20 of the more-frequented and unaffected trails (totaling 112㎞) including: ▲Beopjusa Temple Ticket Office-Sinseondae Cliff (6.1㎞), ▲Osong Jigu-Munjangdae (3.5㎞), ▲Sesimjeong-Dohwari (8.5㎞), ▲Janggakdong-Munjangdae (6.5㎞), ▲Sadamri-Mt.Domyeongsan (6.5㎞), ▲Haksodae-Cheomseongdae (6㎞), ▲Sesimjeong-Munjangdae (3.3㎞), and ▲Cheonwangbong Peak-Hyeongjebong Peak (7.1㎞).
