Infrastructure and plant construction Project Owners worldwide gathered in one place with Korean Builders

The Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference(GICC) 2014 held, through which Korean companies' making inroads into overseas markets will be accelerated!

□ The Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference(GICC) 2014 will be held during September 17-19, 2014, in Seoul, hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea(MOLIT) and organized by the International Contractors Association of Korea(ICAK).

□ Participated by 38 entities including government ministries, public corporations, and policy financial institutions, from 28 countries worldwide, the conference will be a venue where prospective major projects will be introduced and one-on-one meetings between the Project Owners and Korean builders will take place.

Held at the largest scale ever, since its inception, owing to the growing global stature of Korean builders in the world (ranked number 6 by ENR for two consecutive years), this year's conference boasts more high ranking officials and higher level meetings.

In particular, instead of being just a series of project introduction presentations, this conference will serve as a place where global coexistence and advancement of overseas construction will be achieved by covering a wide array of topics, including explorations on financial resources mobilization methods in an effective manner through such channels as multilateral development banks.

□ With key high ranking officials who will take part in the conference, MOLIT will hold bilateral meetings and signing ceremonies of MOUs so as to strongly support Korean enterprises' prospects for winning contracts in those countries.

In addition, an overseas construction history zone and a PR pavilion which will include MOLIT's seven sub-entities will be built to welcome the participants by displaying the excellence of Korean construction technologies and potential for further development.

□ A person related to MOLIT commented, "The GICC will not only provide ample opportunities for Korean builders to promote their excellence in their construction technologies but also will help them forge valuable relations with contract issuing entities worldwide, helping them secure more contracts going forward in their interested markets overseas."
