The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC, Chairperson Ryu Chul Whan) announced that it will pass on Korea's representative anti-corruption policies such as Comprehensive Integrity Assessment and Corruption Impact Assessment to public officials from five countries-Vietnam, Indonesia, Timor-Leste, South Africa, and Rwanda.

The Anti-Corruption Training Institute under ACRC will run the Multi-country Anti-Corruption Capacity Building Program for nine days from today (April 22). Fifteen public officials from five countries will participate for this year’s program.

Anti-Corruption Capacity Building Program is one of the ODA(Official Development Assistance) projects of ACRC for public officials around the world that has been operated since 2013. Approximately 400 government officials from 72 countries have participated since its launch.

The program will provide training on major anti-corruption systems of ACRC, such as Comprehensive Integrity Assessment for Public Institutions Corruption Impact Assessment Corruption reporter/whistle-blower Protection, as well as digital-based anti-corruption policies such as PETI(Public Ethics and Transparency Initiative) system and KONEPS(Korea Online E-procurement System).

At the same time, participants will exchange information on anti-corruption system and current status of their respective countries and discuss to find solutions on dilemmas they may face during their duty.

CPI(Corruption Perception Index) of Korea is on an upward trend from 52nd place in 2016 to 30th place in 2024 and hence anti-corruption policy of Korea is gaining traction among international society.

To meet the demand from various regions and languages, ACRC launches Arabic course for North African countries in May this year, along with Russian in 2020 French in 2023 and Spanish in 2024 including English course which already has been available.

Kim Se Shin, director for Anti-Corruption Training Institute of the ACRC, said, "Korea is an exemplary case that has achieved both economic growth and integrity enhancement at the short period of time, drawing great attention from many countries. We will actively support sharing the integrity policies of Korea such as Comprehensive Integrity Assessment of public institutions with various nations so that they can contribute to the stronger anti-corruption capabilities of the global society."
