On the seventh day of the 2018 Asian Games on Aug. 24, Korean athletes celebrated a “golden day,” taking seven gold medals in events including fencing, swimming and bowling.

Fencing athletes, defeating Hong Kong, won the first team foil Asian Games gold medal in 24 years after the one eared at the 1994 Hiroshima Asian Games. In total, fencers took 15 medals -- 6 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze -- in Jakarta.

Swimmer Kim Seoyeong broke the Korean national and Asian Games record with a time of 2:08.34 in women’s 200 Individual Medley.

Korea maintains its third place on the medals table at the Asian Games on Aug. 24 with 23 gold, 26 silver and 29 bronze medals.

―Women’s Team of Six, Lee Nayoung, Kim Hyun Mi, Lee Yeonji, Han Byul, Ryu Seoyeon and Baek Seungja win gold medal.

Swimming
―Women’s 200m Individual Medley, Kim Seoyeong wins gold medal with Asian Games record
