Tickets for a special performance by North Korea's Samjiyon Orchestra that will be held in Gangneung and Seoul to celebrate the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games will be given out free-of-charge through an online raffle. Applications will be accepted for 24 hours starting at noon on Feb. 2.

“We are going to give out 560 tickets for the Gangneung performance and 500 for the Seoul show through an online raffle, and invite socially disadvantaged people as well as dignitaries from across many fields,” said Spokesperson Baik Tae Hyun from the Ministry of Unification during a press briefing at the Government Complex Seoul on Feb. 1.

The 90-minute performances by the 140 members of the Samjiyon Orchestra is being co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Unification and the Seoul Metropolitan Government. They will be held on Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. in the Saimdang Hall at the Gangneung Arts Center and on Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Haeoreum Grand Theater at the National Theater of Korea in Seoul.

Registration for the raffle is available at the Interpark Ticket website (ticket.interpark.com) or at its mobile site (mticket.interpark.com). Registrants can only apply for either one of the performances.

Winners of the random draw will be announced on the Interpark Ticket website on Feb. 6, and the selected people will also get individual notices via text message sent to their phone number.

Tickets can be collected on-site starting 1 hour and 30 minutes before the show, with the presence of proper ID.
