High-end exhibitions and performances on Korean culture from this month will be held in 15 cities worldwide.

The Korean Culture and Information Service (KOCIS) on April 4 said it will hold through March next year five exhibitions and performances starting in Europe to show the essence of Korean culture.

Starting with the exhibition "Experiments with the Hangeul Alphabet" cohosted by the National Hangeul Museum in Seoul and Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in Warsaw, Poland, the touring program showcases two exhibitions including one of Korean color paintings and the performances.

The program will cover 15 cities in 14 countries including Poland, Germany and Austria as well as those in Asia and North America in that order.

Since 2016, the museum has held the Hangeul exhibition four times to globally promote the value of Hangeul culture. This event is known for promoting the design of the Korean alphabet as artistic and industrial content.

On April 4, the KCC held the opening ceremony for the exhibition, set to run from April 5 to May 31, featuring about 30 works including those of graphic arts and furniture, replicas of artifacts, and media art on the theme of the creation principles and design characteristics of Hangeul.

The program is part of a KOCIS project launched this year to support KCCs.

Kim Nana, director of KOCIS' Global Culture Promotion Division, said, "Reflecting the ever-growing demand for Korean culture, we will strive to help people around the world experience the highest level of Korean works of culture and art."

More information on the program is available on the website of the KCC in Warsaw.
