BTS' highly anticipated comeback event on March 21 in central Seoul will be aired live around the world.

Netflix that evening from 8 p.m. will broadcast "BTS Comeback Live: Arirang" from Gwanghwamun Square in the capital's Jongno-gu District, the K-pop phenom's management agency Big Hit Music said on Feb. 3.

The boy band will be the first music act to hold a solo concert at the venue.

The event will mark the release the day before of the group's fifth full-length album "Arirang," which contains 14 tracks.

In 2020, BTS appeared on the NBC special series "BTS Week" on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and performed against the backdrop of Geunjeongjeon Hall and Gyeonghoeru Pavilion at Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul.

"The new album 'Arirang' contains BTS' starting point, identity and the emotions they want to express now," Big Hit said. "The word 'Arirang' also has a symbolic meaning, so we wanted to prepare the first stage at a space representing Korea."

On March 27, Netflix will release the documentary "BTS: The Return," which explores the process of the group making the album over three years and nine months and members' concerns over music production.

Expecting huge crowds around Gwanghwamun Square and Seoul Plaza on March 21, the Seoul Metropolitan Government on Feb. 4 announced comprehensive measures to manage public safety.

In conjunction with the event, street performances, random dance events and participatory programs will also be held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza, Seoul Plaza and Hangang Parks.
