The Korean Culture and Information Service (KOCIS) this year marks its 50th anniversary, and the agency ended this commemorative year with the 2021 K-healing ON Festival. I was impressed by the winners of competitions organized by Korea.net whose entries included K-pop music videos, Hanbok photoshoots, and works in illustration, animation and other videos.

The two K-pop acts that performed at the event were the girl group LOONA, who sang "Star," and Minzy, who impressed with her voice and dance. K-pop fans also enjoyed many songs by talented artists and contestants while commenting in real time for the chance to win prizes.

The festival's highlight was a video message from first lady Kim Jung-sook, who hailed the articles of Honorary Reporters and encouraged us to continue despite these difficult times. KOCIS Director Park Jung-Youl also urged us to continue our work, and LOONA, who is KOCIS' honorary ambassador this year, gave a message before performing.

The hosts Brian and Stephanie spoke fluent English in announcing the winners of the competitions and this year's best K-influencers and Honorary Reporters. Several of the winners were on stage while others appeared via videoconferencing.

A new platform created by KOCIS on the occasion of its milestone invited participants to attend a metaverse exhibition and see many beautiful images, as well as calligraphy winners from a previous competition.

Happy 50th anniversary, KOCIS!
