Elementary school students dressed in the traditional Confucian outfits yubok and yugeon on May 12, three days ahead of Teacher's Day, learn to perform soksurye, a ritual from the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), at the Confucian academy Guam Seowon in Daegu's Buk-gu District. The practice has aspiring disciples formally asking Confucian scholars to teach them.
