Korean Red Cross volunteers at the Gijang-gun Agricultural Technology Center in Busan on Dec. 19 make patjuk (red bean porridge) two days ahead of Dongji, the winter solstice and 22nd of the year's 24 solar terms under the lunar calendar. The 600 bowls of the porridge to be made will go to 300 elderly and underprivileged households in the region.
