Seoul will host next week Asia's first exhibition of Saudi Arabia's Neom City.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on July 19 said it will hold "Discover NEOM: A New Future by Design" from July 26 to Aug. 3 at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul's Dongdaemun-gu District.
Led by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Neom City is a Saudi mega-project to build a smart city 44 times bigger than Seoul in a desert and mountainous region next to the Red Sea.
The exhibition in Seoul will highlight Neom's main projects such as The Line, Oxagon, Trojena and Sindalah. Replicas of each venture will be displayed to show their innovative design philosophies and urban planning.
"Korea, a longtime friend and partner of Neom and Saudi Arabia, will host Asia's first 'Discover NEOM Tour,'" the project's CEO Nadhmi Al-Nasr said. "We believe that this exhibition will promote bilateral cooperation and economic development."
Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong added, "This exhibition will satisfy public curiosity over Neom while providing fresh stimulation for a range of Korean sectors like construction, mobility, energy and information technology and serving as an opportunity to change ways of thinking."
The exhibition will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free but online reservation is required through the website https://neomseoul.com.
