A pavilion will promote Korea in central Milan during next month's Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in Italy.

The Korea Sports & Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Jan. 27 said the Korea House will be open from Feb. 5-22 to conduct activities supporting the national team and promoting international sports diplomacy and Korean culture.

To be located at the historical building Villa Necchi Campiglio in the heart of Milan, the pavilion from the opening ceremony on Feb. 5 will be the diplomatic base for Korean culture and sports and stimulate collaboration between the government and the private sector during the Olympics.

Korea House will host programs to back the national team like displaying their official uniforms, operating a photo zone and hosting cheering events at key competitions.

A diversity of cultural interactive programs will also await visitors from around the world. On Feb. 17, which is Seollal (Lunar New Year), a "Korea Day" event will feature traditional customs like sebae (prostration) and folk games like yunnori (board game with four sticks), and ttakjichigi (paper tile flipping).

Other events will include those on Korean food and beauty, a K-pop experience, tourism content exhibition and fashion show for Hanbok (traditional clothing).

Admission to Korea House requires a reservation on its official website (www.koreahouse2026.com) or on-site application. The pavilion will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
