Hahm Hee-eunPrime Minister Lee Nak-yon departed Seoul on July 19 on an official diplomatic trip to Kenya, Tanzania and Oman.
Visits to the three Indian Ocean countries are considered meaningful because they are all part of Korea's “Top 100 National Agenda Items” to strengthen business, diplomacy and cooperation on economic development. Business forums will be held in all three countries to create a foundation for Korean companies to expand overseas, and to help promote cooperation on new industries, such as IT and health care.
Prime Minister Lee is traveling on an official Korean government presidential plane for the trip. This is the first time that a presidential plane has been provided to a prime minister for an official overseas trip.
After his visit to the three countries, Prime Minister Lee is scheduled to return to Korea on the morning on July 26.
