The Centre, in collaboration with Choi Ji Youn and Lee Su Yeon, volunteers from the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation's 'Taekwondo Volunteer Corps 2023,' organized a series of engaging programmes throughout the month. The programmes included various Taekwondo classes such as ‘Taekwondo Special Classes,’ a month-long course for beginners, ‘Taekwondo Self-Defence Class,’ and a one-day special class held at the University of Pretoria’s Taekwondo club, TuksTaekwondo.

Participants expressed their gratitude saying, “It has not been always easy to join the regular Taekwondo classes at the Centre as it requires relatively long-term commitment, so I’m glad that I finally got to learn and experience Taekwondo with such fun programmes.”

On 16 and 17 August, participants of the Taekwondo Special Classes had a special day celebrating the completion of the course. They marked this special occasion by inviting their families and friends to showcase what they had learned and practiced during their month-long training.

Choi and Lee said, “It may have been a short period of time, but we've encountered diverse groups of individuals eager to learn and embrace Taekwondo. Witnessing the growing interest and demand for Taekwondo, we recognize our responsibility as Taekwondo coaches. We will continue to take on our mission so more people get to know, experience, and enjoy Taekwondo.”

The Taekwondo Promotion Foundation has been dispatching skilled Taekwondo trainees to different countries every year, aiming to globally introduce and spread Taekwondo. This year, volunteers from the Foundation were dispatched to South Africa, Sri Lanka, Slovakia, and Fiji.
