The Korean Cultural Center LA and Korea Tourism Organization LA are thrilled to announce the US premiere of “2013 KOREA IN MOTION - ‘FANTA-STICK’" at the Ford Theatres on September 7, 2013 at 8:00pm. “FANTA-STICK” is the dynamic, non-verbal/all dance musical comedy taking the world by storm since its premiere in Seoul in 2009. The show’s title is a play on two words: “fantasy” (for the fantasy world created by string music) and “stick” (for the drumming elements of show). The production is inspired by the touching love story, “Jamyeonggo,” which is considered a classic Korean version of the Shakespearean tragedy “Romeo & Juliet.” The ALL AGES show is the follow-up to last year’s SOLD OUT critically-acclaimed KCCLA/KTOLA production, “SACHOOM.”

“FANTA-STICK” tells the story of two families, String and Percussion, who have been embroiled in a feud for generations. The destruction of a “heavenly drum” by the Strings condemns the family to wander the world as ghosts. The only way for them to re-enter the living world is by achieving harmony through “perfect music.” The Strings quickly realize “perfect music” can only be attained with the support from the Percussion. Out of despair, the Strings attempt to steal a book of percussion secrets from their arch enemy. In the process, a romance unfolds between two young star-crossed lovers.
