Korean Storytime “The House Before Falling into the Sea”  with the Author Ann Suk Wang

The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (Director Sangwon Jung) hosted a Korean Storytime event, “The House Before Falling into the Sea,” with Korean-American author Ann Suk Wang at the Pio Pico Library in Koreatown, Los Angeles, on July 24th in commemoration of the Korean War Armistice Day (July 27th).

The event introduced the book “The House Before Falling into the Sea,” published in March this year by Dial Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House. The book, based on a true story experienced by the author's family during the Korean War, conveys messages of solidarity and hope. Upon its release, it was selected as a Gold Standard Selection by the Junior Library Guild and received high reviews from Kirkus Reviews, The Horn Book, and more.

The storytime event, co-hosted by the Korean Cultural Center and the Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL), was attended by children, teenagers, and families from various cultural backgrounds. Ann Suk Wang, the author of the book, was present to share stories about Korean history and culture through music and interact with the audience in a Q&A session about the book.
