The event, held at the Korean Cultural Center in conjunction with the local Children's Day week on April 26, saw over 50 children from orphanages affiliated with the Ankara Family and Social Services Department participating. They had the opportunity to experience various aspects of Korean culture.
The children, aged 6 to 12, arrived at the cultural center with excited hearts and bright eyes. As they engaged in a range of activities such as singing Korean children's songs, writing their names in Hangul, playing traditional Korean games, trying on Hanbok, experiencing Korean cuisine, and watching traditional performances and K-pop dance shows, their interest in Korean culture grew even stronger. They eagerly kicked a jegi (Korean game) despite missing the target, and joyfully posed for photos with friends in Hanbok, showing the excitement of children visiting an amusement park while immersing themselves in Korean culture.
In the classroom where they experienced Korean children's songs, the sound of the Korean song "Santo-ki" (Mountain Rabbit) echoed as the children from the orphanage sang along. In the Hangul experience room, you could see the children using colored pencils to write their names in Hangul.
The traditional dance performance and K-pop dance show that followed were met with a continuous chorus of applause from the children. While watching the performer dance the traditional fan dance, the children gazed in awe with open mouths. After the K-pop dance performance, the kids eagerly jumped onto the stage and spontaneously danced to the K-pop moves themselves.
