Link (in Portuguese): With a Film About a Tormented Filmmaker, Kim Jee-woon Redeems His Passion for Cinema
Description: A filmmaker is haunted by dreams of a new ending for the film he has just completed. To prove to the critics who mock him — and to himself — that it will be a masterpiece, he decides to rewrite part of the story. He persuades the cast and crew to return and re-shoot everything in just two days. The plot reflects the inner turmoil of the creator himself, Kim Jee-woon.
“Every time,” Kim replies when asked whether he ever thinks about re-shooting his own films. “Until you present the film, you have to refine it, adjust it. I ask myself, ‘Why did I shoot it that way?’, ‘If I shot it again, I wouldn’t do it like that’. ‘If I had two more days, it would be such a great masterpiece’. Every time I film, I feel a certain remorse.”
