Koha Oriental Foods is now importing Oyster Snacks to the U.S. The tasty morsels will hit U.S. shelves in the second half of 2016.
More healthy Korean snacks are due to arrive in the U.S.
Koha Oriental Foods, a specialty food importer based in Hawaii, just signed a KRW 100 million contract to bring in Oyster Snacks, a new treat made from boiled, fried oysters seasoned with flavoring. The tasty morsels will hit U.S. shelves toward the end of this year.
The product starts with fresh oysters, free of toxins, as the base ingredient, making it a nutritious treat for young children. For adults, its savory flavors and crunchy texture make it a perfect accompaniment to a drink.
Cho Jang Myeong, CEO at Daione Foods, the company that developed the snack, said, "Our product's superior taste and safe production methods garnered quite a lot of attention at the International Fisheries Exhibition in Brussels last April. Thanks to this exposure, we were able to land a contract with Koha Oriental Foods. Currently, we're in the process of developing new products that use horseradish paste flavoring, at the request of a Japanese firm."

Oyster Snacks -- boiled, fried oysters with flavoring -- are a healthy treat for people of all ages.
