Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, a former military officer himself, has praised the patriotism and sense of civic duty in the show 'Descendant of the Sun,' a new KBS soap opera.
According to the AFP news agency, on March 17 the prime minister, a former military officer, said, “What I have seen is that they have inserted a sense of patriotism, sacrifice, obeying orders and being a dutiful citizen. So please watch it and if anyone wants to make such a drama I will financially sponsor it to make people love government officials, uncorrupted officials and make the Thai people love each other."
He also praised the character Yu Si-jin, a soldier played by actor Song Joong-ki, saying he is “very good looking with a boyish look,” but added with a bit of wit that, “In real life a captain must shoulder a lot of burden and would look older."
