Korean writers will share their world of literature with readers, novelists and poets in mainland China and Brazil.
Novelist Oh Jung-hee and poet Kim Ki-taek will show up at two literary events, one to be held on Sept. 10 and the other on Sept. 11, both in Hangzhou, in Zhejiang Province, China. The two writers will share their literary ideology with Chinese novelist Ai Wei (艾伟), poets Shu Yu (舒羽), Quan Zi (泉子), and with literary critic Jiang Ruoshui (江弱水).
On the other side of the world in Sao Paulo, Brazil, a special literary festival is inviting a Korean poet to meet with local book lovers. The meeting will be held as part of the Pauliceia Literary Festival, slated from Sept. 15 to 17, bringing together a total of 17 writers from Brazil, Spain, Argentina and Portugal. Poet Oh Sae-young will talk about his literature with students who are majoring in Korean studies at the University of Sao Paulo on Sept. 15. Then on Sept. 16 at the Sao Paulo Bar Association, the poet will touch upon East Asian philosophy and Confucianism during talks under the theme of “The Rising East” together with Brazilian poet Moacir Amancio.
