The K-Food Festa between this month and the next brings together 20 leading food festivals across the country.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs on Sept. 27 announced its hosting of the event, the first in the country to promote food-related events under a single brand.

The festivities include four events organized by the ministry -- the Hansik Festa, Food Week Korea, Korean Sool Grand Festival and a commemoration ceremony for Kimchi Day -- and 16 others run by local governments including the Geumsan World K-Insam Festival, Gangneung Coffee Festival, Gimcheon Gimbap Festival, Tteokbokki Festival in Daegu and Gumi Ramyun Festival.

Information on each festival is on an integrated official website and social media. Promotional events are also slated at major transportation and tourism hubs like a pop-up store in Seoul's trendy neighborhood of Seongsu-dong, stations of the high-speed rail KTX and Incheon International Airport.

The ministry plans to attract more foreign visitors through its overseas network of the Korea Tourism Organization, Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp. and diplomatic missions.
