Korea never ceases to persuade people to see the beauty of its land through TV soap operas, films, TV variety shows, and even its music. The number of Indonesian visitors to Korea keeps increasing year-by-year. Travel agents even provide various kinds of themed tours to attract people, such as visiting filming locations for famous TV shows, receiving medical services, Muslim-friendly tours, and many more. Even though traveling through a travel agency is popular, it’s hard to deny that there are also a lot of people who love to arrange their itineraries based on their own preferences and interests, based on their own desired places and activities in Korea.

Recently, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in Jakarta announced its new website Aku Dan Korea, which literally means “Korea and Me,” to help people who want to travel to Korea, especially free independent travelers (FITs) or solo travelers, as they seek information about Korea. The main contents of the website are mainly recommended destinations, special offers, testimonials from other travelers who have been to Korea, information about events such as festival schedules, and quizzes or challenges to interact more with the website visitors. Even better, the KTO Jakarta is also partnering with some airlines to provide better ticket deals to Korea.

To Indonesians who have already been granted a Korean tourist visa, booked a hotel and bought a ticket, they can redeem a few more benefits at the KTO Jakarta. The benefits themselves contain coupons for hotel, gifts, and restaurants and have some offers that could be useful when traveling to Korea. More than that, they can also get a Discover Seoul Pass, a type of transportation card, with a bit of money already on it, and some movie discounts at CGV movie theaters across Indonesia.

The most appealing part of the website are the quizzes and challenges. The KTO gives out return tickets to lucky winners through some quizzes and challenges. Right now, there’s a photo challenge of Korean landscapes from May to June. Following this, there will be trivia quiz from August to October with four return tickets as the grand prize.

The official launch of this website was already held in the beginning of May, and there were also some off-line promotions, too, such as at the Korea Festival that was recently held in Tangerang, near Jakarta. Hopefully this website can show that Korea is an attractive place and is easy to travel to. The most important part is hopefully that this website is able to answer everyone’s questions about planning their trip and seeking reference material for their trip to Korea.
