The Presidential Archives of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on Aug. 12, three days ahead of the 76th National Liberation Day of Korea, unveiled the front page of the nation's first certificate of indebtedness put out by the Korean Provisional Government. The certificate is a bond that came out on Sept. 1, 1919, to raise funds for the pro-independence movement during Japanese colonial rule of the Korean Peninsula, and was issued in KRW and USD in Shanghai, China, and the U.S. state of Hawaii. The archives' website in a first has posted the images of 60 such certificates and their 15 owners.
