The 92nd Chunhyang Festival, which honors the traditional love story "Chunhyang," on May 4 is held at a stage of Gwanghalluwon Garden in Namwon, Jeollabuk-do Province. The event began in 1931, when Korea was under Japanese colonial rule, with the building of the Chunhyang Shrine on Dano, a traditional holiday that falls on May 5 under the lunar calendar. Starting with Chunhyangjehyang, a ritual to commemorate the tale, the event will be held offline until May 8.
