An exhibition about ants just opened at the National Institute of Ecology (NIE) in Seocheon County, Chungcheongnam-do (South Chungcheong Province).
A preliminary exhibit opened at the NIE on January 6 to introduce the "2015 Ants Special Exhibition" that will be held in April.

At the exhibit, visitors can learn how ants are collected.
The current exhibition offers educational programs, including ant research competitions and ant study camps. It also shows how ants are collected and raised, introducing the "2015 Ants Special Exhibition" before it opens in the spring. The exhibition allows visitors to look at many different aspects of ants, an insect that has survived numerous threats resulting from ecological changes in the earth and which has adapted to and coexists with the environment.
The NIE also has other winter programs aimed at children, which will continue until February 22. Children can learn about winter ecology and how animals continue to exist in the winter. Also, in front of the Ecorium entrance near the visitor's center, the NIE set up a large photo stage using its cartoon mascots.
