The main page of the 'We Are All Urban Farmers' website allows city dwellers to access information about urban farming and community gardens in their neighborhoods.

City dwellers often daydream about tending their own gardens, lush with fresh greens and colorful vegetables. How wonderful it would be to pick a bowl of organic greens for your family and friends. It seems many urbanites are farmers at heart, but lacking the experience and the resources, their farming aspirations are shelved until they stumble upon the right opportunity.

With this growing interest in urban farming in mind, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs launched the "We Are All Urban Farmers" website on Dec. 4.

The website offers a variety of useful tools that meet the specific needs of urban farmers and people interested in community gardens. Users can easily locate garden plots in cities all over Korea and get informed about cultivation techniques. They can also read columns or posts written by farming experts, find recipes and look up gardening-related events happening around their city.

New gardeners can learn how to choose crops and plan their farming calendar, while experienced ones can get practical tips along every step of the cultivation process.

Finally, the mobile app "Farming 114" was launched in conjunction with the website to enable easy access from mobile devices. Next year, two new applications -- "Farming 119" for farming-related emergencies and "Farming 007" that sells farming materials -- will be available for download.
