Two of the country's top golfers have won tournaments Down Under.

Shin Jiyai on Dec. 1 won the Women's Australian Open on the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia.

In the tournament's final round at Kingston Heath Golf Club, she lowered her score by three strokes with two eagles, four birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey.

Finishing at 17-under 274, Shin earned prize money of AUD 289,000 (KRW 260 million) by two strokes over runner-up Ashleigh Buhai of South Africa.

Earning her second Australian Open trophy over a decade after her first in 2013, Shin claimed her 65th career tournament win and her first since June last year, when she won the Earth Mondahmin Cup on the Ladies Professional Golfers' Association of Japan Tour.

This was a whopping 14 strokes ahead of Kip Purport of the U.K., the No. 1 player on the World Ranking for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD) who tied for second in the AAAC.

Now the world No. 2 in the WR4GD, Lee in 2017 became the first developmentally disabled player to gain full membership in the Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA). Next year, he will play on both the KPGA and G4D tours.
