The June 3 presidential election will be held at 14,529 polling stations nationwide from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The National Election Commission (NEC) on May 2 said any voter aged 18 or above can vote at a designated polling station based on their registered residence. Those who were unable to do early voting from May 29-30 can vote on Election Day.
Station locations are available on voting brochures sent to voters' homes, a voter list directory system of each local government or an online service to find stations on the NEC's official website (https://si.nec.go.kr).
Ballot counting begins right after voting ends in the following order: early voting in voters' residential districts, general voting and early voting outside one's home area. The result could come as early as midnight on June 4 depending on the gap between each candidate or the next morning if the race is tight.
NEC Chairperson Roh Tae-ak on June 2, the day before the election, urged the public to vote, saying, "Let's make a united Korea through voting."
In a public speech to the nation, he added, "This election is an important one for overcoming our society's conflicts and confrontation and heading toward a Korea of harmony and hope."
"I urge you to cast your precious vote."
