BTS is a seven-member boy group that debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE), consisting of RM (Kim Namjoon), Jin (Kim Seokjin), Suga (Min Yoongi), J-Hope (Jung Hoseok), Jimin (Park Jimin), V (Kim Taehyung), and Jungkook (Jeon Jungkook). Though they received little attention initially, the group gradually built a dedicated fanbase through self-produced music and authentic messages, emerging as global K-pop icons by the mid-2010s.

BTS’s musical journey gained significant international attention through The Most Beautiful Moment in Life series (2015-2016). Their second studio album WINGS (2016) achieved major success with lead single “Blood Sweat & Tears,” while follow-up track “Spring Day” became a beloved song in Korea. The Love Yourself series launched in 2017 marked their breakthrough on Billboard charts. “DNA” entered the Billboard Hot 100, and their 2018 album Love Yourself: Tear debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, becoming the first K-pop album to reach the summit.

In 2019, “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey from Map of the Soul: Persona reached number eight on the Billboard Hot 100, with its music video breaking the 24-hour viewership record. Their first English-language single “Dynamite" in 2020 topped the Billboard Hot 100, making BTS the first Korean act to achieve this milestone. Subsequently, “Butter" and “Permission to Dance" also reached number one, establishing them as the most successful boy group of the 2020s.

BTS received their first major Grammy nomination in 2021 for “Dynamite,” becoming the first K-pop act nominated for a Grammy Award. They earned nominations for three consecutive years with “Butter” (2022) and "My Universe” with Coldplay (2023), plus a nomination for the “Yet to Come” music video. Beyond music, they addressed the United Nations General Assembly three times (2018, 2020, 2021), representing the voice of young generations globally. BTS’s success has demonstrated the global competitiveness of Korean popular music and significantly contributed to spreading K-pop fandom culture worldwide.
