Ministers and other officials from the governments of Korea and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will gather in Busan to discuss innovation in public administration.
The ASEAN-Korea ministerial roundtable on public governance will be held on December 12 on the sidelines of the ASEAN-Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit at the BEXCO center in Busan. A related exhibition will also be on display at the venue throughout December 11 and 12.
During the roundtable, public administration ministers will deliver presentations and have discussions on innovation in governance, under the slogan, "Better Governance, Happier Citizens.” The exhibition will demonstrate each participating country's vision, strategies and best practices in good governance.

The exhibition consists of a Korean government pavilion, an ASEAN section and an ASEAN-Korea Cooperation pavilion. There will also be presentations on Korean institutions, such as the National Computing & Information Agency, and explanations of ASEAN members' government innovation practices, Korea's various e-government systems and the
Saemaul Undong, Korea's set of rural development policies from the 1970s and 1980s.
Minister of Government Administration and Home Affairs Chong Jong-sup will deliver a presentation on his vision and strategies for "Government 3.0."
Each minister from the 10 ASEAN countries will make a presentation or be a panelist in one of the sessions that will cover government innovation, innovation in human resource management for public servants and online government services. They will also introduce their best practices in terms of innovation.
"I hope the roundtable and exhibition will serve as a chance for NGOs, business leaders, ordinary people and participating policymakers to widen their view on governance innovation," said Minister Chong. "I am looking forward to more active cooperation in governance between Korea and ASEAN after the commemorative summit."
