"What is really important in international politics and diplomacy is trust," said President Park. "When trust, an intangible asset, is guaranteed, we can create even larger mutual benefits between different countries. So, we, the Korean government, have kept trust-based diplomacy as the key principle of our foreign policy and have tried to make efforts to find common ground with all of your countries as much as possible."

"As much as possible, we hope to find a common understanding, not only in terms of bilateral cooperation, but also in searching for solutions for issues that we all face, such as climate change, terrorism, weapons of mass destruction and online security," said the president.

"The shortcut to solving mounting problems, such as North Korea's nuclear weapons and human rights abuses, and to developing economic cooperation in Northeast Asia lies in the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula," said the president.

"We, South Korea, have pursued preparations for reunification in the belief that reunification is the only way to contribute to peace and stability of not only the Korean Peninsula but also of Northeast Asia and the world."
