PyeongChang Winter Olympics 2018

About 5,000 athletes and staff from about 100 countries will participate in the 15 sport disciplines at the international winter sporting event, scheduled to take place from February 9 to February 25, 2018, in Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do (Gangwon Province).

The slogan for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics is, "Passion. Connected." The slogan expresses the organizing committee's vision to extend, through one united passion, enthusiasm for and participation in winter sports to a wider audience around the world, opening new horizons for winter sports and for the Winter Games more broadly.

The video footage below shows the 1,000-day countdown ceremony, "Happy PyeongChang, Promise for 1,000 Days," held by the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (POCOG) at the Olympic Park Peace Plaza in southeastern Seoul on May 16, 2015. The event was held to wish for a successful hosting of both the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
