K-pop bands, singers and dancers all came together to help launch this year's Korea Sale Festa.

On Sept. 30, the nation's largest-ever shopping and tourism festival opened with fantastic performances by K-pop stars and with true passion from their fans.

The Korea Sale Festa's opening extravaganza was aired live on the show Music Bank on KBS.

The concert featured a total of 26 pop groups that are popular both in Korea and beyond Korea. The stars included Infinite, 2PM, Shinee, CNBlue, GOT7, GFriend, Apink, Girls Day, Dalshabet and I.O.I, among others.

Ahead of the concert, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Cho Yoonsun met with members of the participating pop groups and delivered words of encouragement. She said, “K-pop was chosen to be at the heart of the concert so that more people could come to Korea during the most beautiful time of the year.”

The Korea Sale Festa will run until Oct. 31. During the month-long, nation-wide sale, a total of 55 festivals will be held, along with various special sales that target non-Korean tourists. Discounts will cover shopping, plane tickets, bus and train fare, hotels, cosmetics and concert tickets.
