Since 1979, Korean Cultural Centers (KCCs) have promoted Korea and its culture worldwide through hosting arts and cultural events. The 32 centers in 27 countries support Korean heritage and art exhibitions, traditional music and dance performances, as well as cultural activities such as Hangeul, taekwondo, gugak (traditional Korean music), calligraphy and cooking. The following is a schedule of KCC events for August.

The KCC in Brazil has relocated to a new building on Paulista Avenue in downtown Sao Paolo. As just the third such center in Latin America after those in Argentina and Mexico, the KCC is now at one of Sao Paulo's leading streets that houses numerous financial and cultural institutions. The new building also features traditional Korean architecture and comes equipped with a digital experiential center for Korean culture.

The opening ceremony scheduled for Aug. 4 will feature performances by the folk music and dance troupe Anseong Namsadang and K-pop singer Gong Minji, as well as a live drawing show by artist Kim Mookwon.

Also in August, the KCC here will hold a number of cultural events such as an exhibit on the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and workshops on traditional Korean music.
