An official online channel exclusively for Korean TV shows has launched at an Indonesian website.

The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and the Korea Radio Promotion Association announced on April 4 that they opened Kcontentbank, an online channel solely for Korean TV shows at the Indonesian video website Vidio.com.

Vidio.com is an online platform for videos run by Emtek, one of the biggest Indonesian media corporations.

The new Korean channel will officially start broadcasting in May after a month of trial services.

Some 6,000 videos from 17 Korean media companies will be provided to Indonesian viewers at the channel. This includes children’s animated cartoons, K-pop performances, soap operas, documentaries and educational programs.

“We will provide full support for the Kcontentbank so that it can serve as an export hub for Korean media,” said Cho Kyeongsik, director-general of the Broadcasting Promotion Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning.

The Kcontentbank, an online channel at the Indonesian video website Vidio.com, broadcasts Korean cartoons and documentaries.
