A fan page for President Moon Jae-in on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, and which is managed by a Chinese fan of his, is in the spotlight.

Opened on March 19, the user -- or users-- have so far uploaded 603 posts and have gathered 55,396 followers in just two months.

The poster or posters write about President Moon's schedule and major events he attends, and offer encouraging messages, too, about his time as both a candidate and as a president.

Some of the photos posted have been rarely seen in Korean media. These include a picture of President Moon eating ice cream or some other street snack, or a photo of him doing some martial arts. There are also ones of him cooking, driving or massaging the feet of his wife, the first lady.

Weibo users are leaving cordial messages about the ordinary and intimate shots of President Moon. One comment was left by user Ni-xiao-hong-hang-mu (倪小红娱乐航母) on a photo of the president eating some fish cake that was uploaded on May 18. The comment says, “There are lots of tasty foods in China, so come visit China when you have the time!”

Another comment from user Jiu-jiu-yu-zhui (玖久与锥) on a photo of the president and a child looking at each other, uploaded on May 17, says, “President Moon is really, truly, adorable.”

On the early morning of May 10, as President Moon’s election victory was confirmed, the owner or owners of the account posted a message saying, “This Weibo account was opened to let internet users from Korea and China communicate and understand each other properly, believing that President Moon will lead Korea to improve and to become a better country.” The user also said that, “I appreciate the fact that more than 50,000 people have supported this account since March. For the friendship between Korea and China, all of our efforts are necessary!”
