Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha met with her Danish counterpart, Anders Samuelson, in Seoul on Oct. 13.

Following a bilateral meeting, the two ministers held a joint press conference in which they emphasized the strategic partnership between Seoul and Copenhagen. The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to initiatives such as the Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G), and the Green Growth Alliance, and agreed to further expand political and economic cooperation on issues related to sustainable development.

The ministers touched upon the wide range of cultural events that will be organized in 2019 in celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Korea and Denmark. They also stressed the importance of maintaining the free trade agreement between Korea and the European Union.

Finally, the ministers strongly condemned North Korea's nuclear and missile weapons development, and asked that all nations comply with and carry out U.N. Security Council resolutions, reaffirming the need to push for a complete, irreversible and verifiable dismantlement of Pyongyang's nuclear program in a peaceful manner.
