Overseas

On Tuesday, March 13, the King Sejong Institute (KSI) at the Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles (KCCLA) held a written essay contest. Thirty-three students from all levels submitted essays, creating a tough job for all the teachers to judge and pick winners.
The general theme was, of course, anything to do with Korea. Some were factual and historical, while others were of a more personal experience and how learning Korean has greatly changed their lives. Many essays were also about The Korean Wave ('Hallyu', the wildfire craze of Korean TV dramas, pop music and culture worldwide). Everyone who participated received a prize, with the top winners in each class having their registration fee waved for their next semester at KSI.
