(unofficial translation) I was briefed by U.S. Secretary of State Pompeo about the results of his visit to Pyeongyang yesterday. I thank once again President Trump and the U.S. Government for their attentive consideration to send Secretary of State Pompeo to Seoul immediately following his visit to North Korea to inform us first of the outcome. His visit to the North helped create an atmosphere and conditions for a second U.S.-North Korea summit to be held at an early date. I urge you all to do your utmost for close cooperation and coordination between South Korea and the United States to ensure that the second U.S.-North Korea summit is held at the earliest date possible and that denuclearization and the peace process on the Korean Peninsula make significant headway. 

Besides the second U.S.-North Korea summit, Chairman Kim Jong Un's visit to Russia and Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to North Korea are expected to take place in the near future. In addition, it is possible that a Japan-North Korea summit will be held. A new order is about to take shape on the Korean Peninsula. This new order on the Peninsula will lead to a new order in Northeast Asia. I believe the entire process is both essential and helpful for the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the establishment of a permanent peace regime. Proactive efforts should be made for cooperation with other countries concerned besides the United States so that the last remaining Cold War rivalry on earth can be dissolved. I ask politicians and the public to pool their strengths in supporting the Government so that the process can proceed well and we can play a leading role.
