Special menu items highlighting Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump are stimulating appetites of locals and foreign tourists alike all across Singapore, the host country of the historic summit between North Korea and the U.S.

To sample these new delicious fares, Korea.net recently visited the Harmony Nasi Lemak restaurant in Suntec City in Singapore, which started serving a new dish called Trump-Kim Chi Nasi Lemak, even before the day of the summit. The large bowl of rice is prepared with Korea’s representative food, kimchi, and U.S. beef combined with Malay cuisine’s nasi lemak.

Stir-fried anchovies, peanuts and sambal sauce, a spicy sauce made of pepper, shallots, salt and sugar, are added on top of the steamed rice that has been cooked with coconut milk and pandan leaves.

Spices unique to Southeast Asia, spicy Korean kimchi and U.S. beef make for a delicious summit-appropriate combination.

The restaurant’s promotional representative, Coco Chan, said, “This new menu item, a combination of Korean, U.S. and Singaporean dishes, is gaining huge popularity due to the interest in the summit held here in Singapore. We’ve developed this dish in the hopes that the summit between the two leaders of North Korea and the U.S. could happen harmoniously.”

Singapore’s HopHeads Craft Beer Bar & Bistro shows off its new cocktail, the Bromance, made by combining Donald Trump’s favorite drink, Diet Coke, soju from Korea, a dark beer and tequila.

Korea.net was also on the lookout for a special summit cocktail after enjoying the Trump-Kim themed nasi lemak. The local bar HopHeads Craft Beer Bar & Bistro has created a new cocktail called the Bromance.

The stupor-inducing tipple is a combination of Trump’s favorite drink, Diet Coke, Korea’s representative liquor, soju, dark beer and tequila. It comes with a cut-out sticker of the two leaders smacking their lips and about to kiss.

General manager of the bar, Carlo Ibanez, said, “The summit could have been canceled, but it finally came to happen. Our team has created this drink in the hopes that the summit could be pushed through. The cocktail is popular because guests like the taste and slamming the table to pour the soju into the drink adds a fun element, as well.”
