Young scientists from 37 schools in 21 nations including Korea, the U.S., China, Russia, the U.K., France, Japan, Singapore and Kenya gathered in Busan for the 2017 International Students Science Fair June 19-23.

Some 74 teams presented studies in six categories: environmental science and future energies, bioscience, nanotechnology, robotics and autonomous systems, astronomy, and computing and mathematical science.

The grand prize went to the Nano team from Mahidol Wittayanusorn School of Thailand. The winning study was on “the evaluation of the degree of spiciness by the electrochemical method with modified working electrodes and potential application in the food industry.”
